Detailed explanation of the tour experience

 

We will meet you at Cozumel Airport.*

Upon arrival to the airport you are welcomed by your Duende Tours representative who will explain you the details of the tour.

You will then go through customs and board your plane for the 45 minute scenic flight to Chichen Itza.

Enjoy amazing views over the coast of the Yucatan Peninsula with its turquoise, clear water, white sand beaches and coral reefs. You will then fly over the endless green jungle of the Yucatan and see cenotes (sink holes) from the air.

Upon landing at Chichen Itza, your pilot will personally hand you over to your private taxi driver.

Your friendly driver will bring you to the ruins of Chichen Itza (20 min. drive) where you are met by your English speaking guide**.

Enjoy the 1 hour guided tour of the ruins, during which you will learn about the ancient Maya and their incredible culture, art and architecture. Your guide will adjust the tour to your interests and show you the best picture opportunities! After the tour, you are free to explore the ruins some more on your own.

When you are done at the ruins, your private taxi driver is ready to take you to the next stop on this excursion: Cenote Ik-Kil.

This is where you will savour a full Mexican lunch buffet and have the opportunity to swim in the Mayan sinkhole called a cenote. Lockers, changing rooms and bathrooms are available for your use.

From the cenote, it is just a 10 minute ride back to Chichen Itza airport where your pilot is ready for your return to Cozumel Island.

The total tour time depends on your schedule and wishes, it averages about 6 to 7 hours. An express version of this tour can be done in 4 hours.
